DITO eSIM Guide: Price, Phones and Setup

DITO ang second SIM mo? Marami ang ganyan. A lot of people keep a Smart or Globe number as their main line and add DITO for data or calls. An eSIM makes that easy if your phone has only one SIM slot, because DITO can live inside the phone while your main SIM stays in the tray.

This guide covers DITO's prepaid eSIM: price, where to buy it, which phones DITO lists, how to install and register it, and the things DITO says it can't do yet. Everything here comes from DITO's eSIM page and FAQ, checked on 29 October 2026.

DITO eSIM in one minute

• What it is: a DITO Prepaid line saved as a digital SIM on your phone.
• Where to buy: DITO Experience Store branches and the DITO eShop in the DITO App. DITO says new subscribers could buy it there starting 16 September 2024.
• Price: P99, as listed by DITO on 29 October 2026.
• Setup: scan the QR, register in the DITO App, restart.
• Big limits: no physical-to-eSIM conversion, no porting a number to eSIM, and a replacement comes with a new number.

What the P99 includes

As listed by DITO on its eSIM page on 29 October 2026, the new DITO Prepaid eSIM costs P99 and includes:

• 9GB of all-access data
• unlimited texts to all networks
• unlimited DITO-to-DITO calls, voice and video
• 150 minutes of calls to other networks
• all valid for 15 days

That's a starter bundle, not a monthly plan. After it runs out, you load and pick a promo like any DITO prepaid number. Starter bundles change, so check DITO's page on the day you buy.

Will it work on my phone?

DITO's FAQ lists these eSIM-compatible devices:

A few things to keep in mind:

• The same model name can come in versions without eSIM, depending on where it was sold. If your phone has no "Add eSIM" or "Add mobile plan" option in settings, it may be one of those.
• A phone locked to another network may refuse a DITO eSIM. Ask the network that sold it whether it can be made open-line first.
• DITO's note on iPhone: iOS devices currently get only 4G data on DITO's eSIM.

How to buy a DITO eSIM

DITO names two places:

1. DITO Experience Store. Walk in, buy the eSIM and get the QR code. Bring a valid ID, because you'll register the SIM right after.
2. DITO eShop in the DITO App. Download the DITO App, open the eShop, and buy the prepaid eSIM there.

DITO's page also mentions other sales channels on its site. Since those can change, we suggest buying from the two channels DITO names in its FAQ, so you're sure the QR code is genuine.

How to install and activate

Connect to Wi-Fi first. DITO's steps:

Android (Samsung menu names):

1. Go to Settings, Connections, then SIM card manager.
2. Tap Add mobile plan, then Other ways to add plans.
3. Choose Add using QR code and scan the QR code.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

iPhone:

1. Go to Settings, Cellular, then Add cellular plan.
2. Choose to add using a QR code and scan it.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Then, on both:

1. Register your eSIM in the DITO App.
2. Restart your phone.

Registration isn't optional. The SIM Registration Act (Republic Act No. 11934) says SIMs are sold deactivated and only activate after the user registers. The law lists accepted IDs such as a passport, PhilSys ID, driver's license, SSS ID and others.

Keep your QR code safe

DITO's FAQ says to keep a copy of your eSIM QR code, from email or print, because you'll need it to reinstall the eSIM on your device if necessary.

DITO also says that once you scan and install the QR on one phone, it can't be used on another phone. Its FAQ gives two different answers on moving an eSIM to a new phone: one says transfers aren't available yet, another describes adding the eSIM on the new phone with the details DITO provides. Before you change phones, ask DITO through the app which applies to you.

What DITO's eSIM can't do yet

DITO's FAQ, as of 29 October 2026, says these are not available yet but that it's working on them:

• converting a DITO physical SIM to an eSIM
• porting a number from another network onto a DITO eSIM
• converting a DITO eSIM back to a physical SIM

So if you want to keep your existing DITO number, stay on the physical SIM for now. If you want to bring your Smart or Globe number to DITO, you can't do that with an eSIM yet. Our conversion guide shows which networks do allow conversion.

Lost phone or lost QR

DITO says a replacement eSIM is free if your phone is lost or damaged. You submit a help ticket in the DITO App and get a new QR code by email. The catch: the replacement comes with a different mobile number. DITO asks for your sales invoice, official receipt or an order screenshot, and says the request is processed within 24 hours.

If you lose the QR before you scanned it, the same process applies, again with a different number.

While waiting, DITO says to temporarily disconnect your line so no one else can use it.

If your DITO number is linked to banks, e-wallets or OTPs, that number change matters. Update your contact number in those apps as soon as you have the new one.

How many eSIMs can a phone hold?

DITO says it depends on the phone maker. Its FAQ gives these examples: many Android phones store about 5 to 7 eSIM profiles with one active at a time, and the iPhone 15 can hold up to 8 with 2 active. You can't use the same eSIM in two phones at the same time.

You can use a DITO eSIM and a physical SIM from another network at the same time, if your phone supports both. Each line keeps its own number.

Removing a DITO eSIM

On Samsung, DITO's path is Settings, Connections, SIM Manager, then select the eSIM to remove it. Think twice before you do this, because DITO says the QR can't be reused on another phone, and a replacement means a new number.

Using DITO eSIM abroad

DITO says you can use its eSIM abroad if you subscribe to DITO's roaming service. DITO's roaming page says you activate roaming in the DITO App at least an hour before you need it, and you need a data pack to use data while roaming. A new SIM must be activated in the Philippines first.

Is DITO eSIM worth it?

It depends on what you need. For a second line with lots of data for two weeks, the P99 starter bundle as listed on 29 October 2026 is a cheap way to try DITO on your phone and see how the signal is where you live and work. Coverage is the real test, so try it before you move your main number anywhere.

The trade-offs are the missing conversion and porting options and the new number on replacement.
