eSIMs, explained

eSIM Guides for the Philippines: Smart, Globe, DITO

Plain guides to eSIM in the Philippines: Smart, Globe and DITO eSIMs, compatible phones, converting your SIM, registration and options for tourists.

Facts checked

Quick answer

  • An eSIM is a SIM built into your phone. You install it with a QR code or an app instead of a card.
  • Smart, TNT and Globe let you convert your SIM to eSIM and keep your number. DITO and TM didn't offer conversion yet on 29 October 2026.
  • Every Philippine SIM, eSIM included, must be registered under RA 11934 before it works. Tourists register with a passport, address and onward ticket.

Mag-e-eSIM ka na ba? Maybe you're moving your Smart or Globe number, trying DITO as a second line, checking if your phone can even do it, or landing in Manila as a visitor. This is where to start. We wrote these guides so you get the steps and fees straight from each network's own pages, without the guesswork.

Every guide shows the date we checked the facts. We last checked everything on this page on 29 October 2026.

eSIMs.ph is an independent guide run by Dominet BV. We're not a mobile network, telco or eSIM seller, and we don't sell, activate or register SIMs. Some links on this site may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them. Telcos we mention don't pay us anything. That never changes what we write. Read our affiliate disclosure. Your network decides on activation, registration and fees.

Network guides

  • Smart eSIM: Smart and TNT eSIM, where to buy, prices as listed, converting with the same number, and roaming.
  • Globe eSIM: buying in GlobeOne, conversion, reinstall limits, TM status, and fixes for "no signal" and "not provisioned".
  • DITO eSIM: the DITO Prepaid eSIM, its starter bundle, listed phones, and what DITO can't do yet.

Choosing and visiting

Three things to know before you switch

1. Check your phone first. Dial *#06#. If you see an EID, your phone supports eSIM. It also needs to be unlocked or locked to the same network.

2. Your number can come with you, on some networks. As listed on 29 October 2026, Smart and Globe Prepaid charged P99 to convert, TNT P89, and postpaid switches were free. DITO said conversion wasn't available yet, and Globe said TM eSIM wasn't available yet.

3. Register it. RA 11934 says SIMs are sold deactivated and only work after registration. Use your own details and your network's official registration.

Travelling abroad?

This site covers eSIMs inside the Philippines. For trips to Japan, China, Taiwan, Vietnam and more, and for roaming versus a travel eSIM, visit our sister site TravelESIM.ph.

How we work

We're an independent guide. We read each network's own pages and the law, and we date every price we show. We don't run speed tests we haven't done, we don't sell SIMs, and we don't take payment from telcos.

Mobile services in the Philippines are regulated by the National Telecommunications Commission, and the SIM Registration Act (Republic Act 11934) applies to SIMs and eSIMs. We are not a telco and we do not sell, activate or register SIMs. Always check the plan terms on the provider's own site before you buy.
