Quick answer

  • Globe Prepaid eSIMs are bought and managed in the GlobeOne app. Globe listed a new prepaid eSIM at P99 on 29 October 2026; the starter freebie differs between Globe pages, so check it at checkout.
  • Globe Postpaid customers can get an eSIM through the Globe Online Shop or GlobeOne, and switching from a physical SIM is free for postpaid. TM eSIM was not yet available.
  • If your Globe eSIM shows no signal, check that the Globe line is turned on, chosen for cellular data, and registered. Globe's help pages list these settings first.

Globe ang network mo at gusto mong mag-eSIM? Good news: Globe has offered eSIM to postpaid customers since 2018, according to its own blog, and prepaid customers can now buy and convert eSIMs inside the GlobeOne app.

This guide covers how to buy a Globe eSIM, how to activate it, what it costs, how to move it to another phone, and a fix-it checklist for the two problems people search most: no signal and "not provisioned". We used Globe's help pages and blog, checked on 29 October 2026.

Globe eSIM at a glance

  • Globe Prepaid eSIM: bought in the GlobeOne app. You can buy a new number or convert your current prepaid SIM.
  • Globe Postpaid eSIM: chosen when you apply for a plan in the Globe Online Shop, or switched from a physical SIM through GlobeOne or a Globe store.
  • TM: Globe's help page said eSIM was not yet available for TM customers and that Globe is working on it.
  • Visitors: Globe sells a separate Traveler eSIM for tourists. That's covered in our tourist eSIM guide.

Before you buy: two checks

1. Does your phone support eSIM? Globe's suggestion is to download GlobeOne and run the compatibility test. You can also open Settings, then Mobile Network or Cellular, and look for an option like Add eSIM or SIM Manager. If it's there, your phone supports eSIM. For a full list approach, see our eSIM compatible phones guide.

2. Is your phone locked to another network? Globe says a Globe Prepaid eSIM won't work on a phone locked to another carrier. Its checks:

  • iPhone: Settings, General, About, Carrier Lock. "No SIM restrictions" means unlocked.
  • Android: Settings, Connections, Mobile Networks, Network Operators, then Search Now. If several carrier names show up, the phone is unlocked.

Globe also says it's your responsibility to make sure the phone is unlocked and has a free eSIM slot before you pay. The app won't check that for you.

What a Globe Prepaid eSIM costs

As listed by Globe on its Prepaid Local eSIM help page on 29 October 2026, a new prepaid eSIM costs P99 and comes preloaded with 5GB of data for all sites and unlimited all-net texts, valid for 3 days from activation.

Globe's 5G SIM and eSIM page showed a different welcome offer for the same P99 eSIM on the same day. That's normal for telco promos, which change often. Treat the P99 price as the anchor and check the freebie on the GlobeOne checkout screen before you pay.

Things Globe says about the freebie:

  • It starts when the eSIM is activated, and you need to finish SIM registration to use it.
  • It can't be paused once it starts.
  • There's no freebie when you convert a physical SIM to eSIM.
  • You can buy more promos in GlobeOne under Buy Promo.

Converting a Globe Prepaid physical SIM to eSIM costs P99, as listed by Globe on 29 October 2026. For Globe Postpaid, Globe says the switch is free.

How to buy a Globe Prepaid eSIM

You buy it in GlobeOne. Globe's blog says that if you don't have a GlobeOne account yet, you tap the eSIM offer below the login button after downloading the app.

Payment options, according to Globe's help page:

  • GCash
  • Visa, Mastercard or JCB credit and debit cards
  • international credit cards, which Globe says are accepted

Your bank may add transaction or conversion fees.

After payment, Globe sends a receipt, instructions and the QR code by email. You can buy an eSIM with a new number for someone else, but the QR must be scanned on the phone that will use it.

How to activate a Globe eSIM

Connect to Wi-Fi or stable data first.

From the GlobeOne app: if your phone is compatible, the app can install the eSIM directly on the same phone.

From the QR code:

  • iPhone: scan the QR with the camera, select Add Cellular Plan, and follow the steps. Your number shows once it's done.
  • Android: Globe's steps go through Add Mobile Plan, then Scan Carrier QR Code, then confirm.

Postpaid iPhone users may not need a QR at all. Globe's help page explains Apple's carrier activation: on iPhone XS, XR and newer, a new iPhone can find the postpaid plan during setup and show "Cellular Plan Ready to Be Installed". If you don't see that screen, add it manually with the QR from your email.

Then register your SIM. The SIM Registration Act (Republic Act No. 11934) requires registration before a SIM is activated, and Globe says you need the GlobeOne app to complete registration and see your promos. Globe recommends keeping the app installed even after setup.

Fix-it: Globe eSIM no signal or "not provisioned"

These two messages usually mean the phone has the eSIM profile, but the line isn't fully working yet. Globe's help pages don't explain the exact wording, so start with the settings Globe does list, in this order.

1. Is the SIM registered?

An unregistered SIM won't get service. Finish registration in GlobeOne.

2. Is the Globe line turned on and chosen for data?

On iPhone and iPad, Globe's steps are:

  • Settings, then Cellular.
  • Under SIMs or Cellular Plans, make sure the Globe eSIM is turned on.
  • Under Cellular Data, select the Globe eSIM.
  • Turn Allow Cellular Data Switching off, to avoid roaming charges from your other line.

On Android, Globe lists the menu path per brand:

  • Samsung: Settings, Connections, then turn on the Globe eSIM.
  • Pixel: Settings, Network and Internet, then choose the Globe eSIM.
  • Huawei and Honor: Settings, Mobile Network, SIM Management.
  • Oppo: Settings, Mobile Network.

3. Check the roaming toggle

This sounds odd for a local SIM, but Globe's prepaid eSIM help page tells Samsung and Pixel users to make sure roaming is turned on for the eSIM. Try it if the line still won't connect.

4. Turn mobile data on

Globe says you activate the eSIM by turning on mobile data in your phone's settings. Restart the phone after changing settings.

5. Ask Globe

If none of this works, Globe says to tap the Help button in the upper-right corner of the GlobeOne dashboard. Don't delete the eSIM while troubleshooting unless Globe tells you to, because each QR has a reinstall limit (see below).

Moving your Globe eSIM to a new phone

Globe says its prepaid and postpaid eSIM QR codes can be reused and transferred without a store visit. The steps:

  1. On the old phone, uninstall the eSIM in settings.
  2. On the new phone, install it with the QR code.

The limit: Globe's prepaid help page says you can rescan or reinstall your eSIM up to 5 times, on the same phone or another one. Don't burn those tries on troubleshooting.

On iPhone, Globe also explains eSIM Quick Transfer between iPhones signed in to the same Apple Account. Globe says it needs iPhone 11 or newer on iOS 26, both phones within Bluetooth range, and two-factor authentication on the Apple Account. Apple's own support page explains the same feature.

Lost QR, lost phone, or back to a physical SIM

  • Lost QR before scanning: Globe says you can request a new code through GlobeOne or a Globe store, free of charge.
  • Lost phone: Globe says to visit a Globe store right away to have the eSIM barred, or report it through Globe's official Facebook page or the hotline listed on the help page.
  • Back to a physical SIM: Globe says you can keep your number by visiting a Globe store and paying a P99 transaction fee, as listed on 29 October 2026.

When your Globe Prepaid eSIM expires

Globe's help page lists the same expiry rules as regular prepaid. The eSIM is permanently disconnected if:

  • there's no activity for 1 year after your last reload, or
  • there's no activity for 120 days after your load balance hits zero or your promo expires.

Load it now and then, especially if it's your second line.

Globe eSIM abroad

Globe says you can use Globe roaming with your eSIM. If you'd rather use a travel eSIM for data and keep Globe for OTP texts, see the comparison on our sister site: roaming vs travel eSIM.
