Quick answer

  • Buy a local GOMO eSIM through the GOMO PH app or gomo.ph, scan the QR code and register in the app.
  • GOMO allows physical SIM upgrades, transfers to another phone and requests to switch back to a physical SIM. Fees apply to upgrades and replacements.
  • The transfer FAQ updated 1 July 2026 says transfers have no limits from 12 June 2026. Offer text still mentions four free transfers, so check in the app.

GOMO sells its eSIM only in the GOMO PH app and on gomo.ph. You buy it there, the QR code lands in your email, and registration, transfers and replacements all sit under one Account menu. Kaya mo 'yan, basta ready ang phone mo.

The one thing to do on day one: save the QR code email somewhere safe. GOMO uses that same original QR when you change phones or delete the eSIM by mistake. Below is the full process, from GOMO's own FAQ and Get GOMO SIM page as we found them on 2 November 2026, including one place where those two pages don't agree.

eSIMs.ph is an independent guide run by Dominet BV. We're not a mobile network, telco or eSIM seller, and we don't sell, activate or register SIMs. Some links on this site may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them. Telcos we mention don't pay us anything. That never changes what we write. Read our affiliate disclosure. GOMO decides on your eSIM order, registration and any replacement.

GOMO eSIM in one minute

  • What it is: a digital SIM built into your phone, using Globe's network.
  • Where to buy: exclusively through the GOMO PH app and gomo.ph.
  • Setup: scan your QR code, then register through the app.
  • Number options: port from another network through Easy Switch SIM, or upgrade an existing GOMO physical SIM.
  • Phone changes: the newer FAQ allows transfers with your original QR code, with no limits.
  • Physical SIM return: request it in the app. Replacement fees apply.

GOMO says data, calls and texts work the same on an eSIM as on a physical SIM, battery life is the same, and the eSIM doesn't use your phone's storage. 'Mo Creds data swaps also work, as long as the eSIM has No Expiry Data loaded.

Will your phone take a GOMO eSIM?

Check the menus GOMO names:

  • iPhone: Settings > Cellular. Look for "Set Up Cellular" or "Add eSIM".
  • Android: Settings > Connections > SIM Card Manager. Look for "Add eSIM".

Your phone must support eSIM, have a free eSIM slot and be free of a carrier lock. Use strong WiFi or good mobile data when downloading and activating.

GOMO says most compatible devices store 7 to 10 eSIMs, with one or two usable at a time depending on the device. If all slots are occupied, delete an eSIM you no longer use. Check our eSIM compatible phones guide before buying.

GOMO supports 4G. For 5G, you need a compatible 5G-ready phone, enabled 5G settings and 5G coverage. Its offer page lists nationwide LTE coverage. One old note: GOMO's FAQ said in March 2023 that GOMO SIMs didn't support VoLTE or WiFi calling yet. That entry may be out of date, so ask GOMO if you rely on either.

How to buy a GOMO eSIM

Use Shop Now in the GOMO PH app, or the Local eSIM tab on GOMO's website. Starter offers, as listed by GOMO on 2 November 2026:

  • P109: 3GB No Expiry Data plus UNLI Calls & Texts for 7 days.
  • P199: 7GB No Expiry Data plus UNLI Calls & Texts for 7 days.
  • P299: 15GB No Expiry Data plus UNLI Calls & Texts for 7 days.

Read those carefully. The 7 days is for the unli calls and texts. The data itself is No Expiry Data, so it stays until you use it. GOMO also lists 30GB No Expiry eSIM options. Starter offers change often, so check the price on the day you order.

The page lists app tracking for data, SMS and calls, data swaps for vouchers through 'Mo Creds, and a free welcome gift after successful activation and registration.

Tourists can buy and activate before arriving in the Philippines, according to GOMO. Physical SIM delivery is within the Philippines only. See our eSIM guide for tourists.

GOMO also sells roaming and travel eSIMs for trips abroad. For those trips, read roaming vs travel eSIM.

How to install and activate

Have the QR code from your order email ready, ideally on another screen or printed, since the phone you're installing on has to scan it. Connect to WiFi or good mobile data first.

iPhone

  1. Open Settings > Cellular.
  2. Tap "Set Up Cellular" or "Add eSIM".
  3. Scan your eSIM QR code.
  4. Tap "Add Cellular Plan". GOMO says to ignore the pop-up and tap "OK".
  5. Check that the eSIM appears with your mobile number.

The eSIM may appear as "Globe" before activation. GOMO uses Globe's network, so this label can still refer to your GOMO eSIM.

Android

  1. Open Settings > Connections > SIM Card Manager.
  2. Tap "Add Mobile Plan" > "Scan Carrier QR Code".
  3. Scan the QR code from your order email.
  4. Tap "Confirm".
  5. Check that the eSIM appears with your number.

These are Samsung-style menu names. Other Android brands may use different names.

Finish in the app

Open GOMO PH, tap "Activate your SIM" and follow the registration steps. GOMO says activation usually completes within minutes, though some cases take up to 24 hours. For a Filipino-language introduction, see paano mag-eSIM.

Registering your GOMO eSIM

Republic Act No. 11934, the SIM Registration Act, covers electronic SIMs too. SIMs are sold deactivated and activated only after registration. The requirement covers locals and foreigners using SIMs bought in the Philippines. Registration is free.

In the GOMO PH app, provide your name, birthday, address, a photo of a valid government-issued ID and a selfie.

GOMO's accepted ID list, updated 26 October 2026, includes:

  • Driver's License
  • National ID, including PVC, paper and digital eGov
  • BIR ID
  • UMID
  • Passport
  • SSS ID
  • PRC License ID
  • Postal ID
  • PhilHealth ID
  • Voter's ID

Foreign tourists need a passport, including the bio page and pages with the current visa. They also need proof of address in the Philippines and a return ticket showing the departure date and time. Address proof can be a hotel or accommodation booking, or an affidavit or letter from the house owner.

GOMO lists an AEP from DOLE or an ACR I-Card from the Bureau of Immigration for foreign workers. For students, it lists a school registration form, school ID or ACR I-Card.

Registration updates arrive by text and/or email. If unsuccessful, review your details and try again with clear ID and selfie photos. If submission fails, exit the app and retry.

Keeping your number: Easy Switch SIM

Easy Switch SIM lets you bring a number from another network through Mobile Number Portability. GOMO says MNP is free of charge.

Before ordering, you need an approved switching application and a 10-digit porting code. GOMO sends the code by email after you submit the switching application.

Order through "GET GOMO SIM" on the website, or Shop Now > Easy Switch SIM in the app. For an eSIM switch, install the eSIM, tap "Activate your SIM" in the app, complete activation and finish registration. Porting doesn't replace registration: you still need a valid ID and selfie.

For other options, see best eSIM in the Philippines and our Globe eSIM guide.

Converting a GOMO physical SIM to eSIM

Open GOMO PH > Account > SIM Management > "I want to upgrade my physical SIM to an eSIM."

GOMO's FAQ says fees apply but doesn't state the amount. Check the app before confirming. Check your phone's compatibility and available eSIM slot before starting, too.

This is the app option for an existing GOMO physical SIM. Bringing a number from another network uses Easy Switch SIM instead. Our physical SIM to eSIM guide covers conversion more broadly.

Moving your GOMO eSIM to a new phone

GOMO's transfer FAQ, updated 1 July 2026, says that effective 12 June 2026, transfers to another device have no limits. Scan your original eSIM QR code on the new compatible phone.

There is conflicting wording: the Get GOMO SIM offer page still says "4 FREE device transfers upon purchase", with terms and conditions applying. Follow the newer FAQ, but check in the app before moving.

If the original QR code gives an error, contact GOMO through Facebook Messenger. Fees apply for a replacement eSIM QR code, and you keep your number. GOMO doesn't publish the fee on its FAQ, so check the amount before you confirm.

Deleted it by mistake or lost the QR code

If you've set up the eSIM before and still have the original QR code, scan it again. Look in your order confirmation email.

For another copy, open Account > SIM Management > "Resend a copy of my eSIM QR code" in the app. GOMO allows this up to three times per month and sends it to your email.

Deleting the eSIM doesn't deactivate your number. To terminate the number, chat with GOMO through Facebook Messenger.

To remove an eSIM on iPhone, use Settings > Cellular > select GOMO eSIM > Remove Cellular Plan, then confirm. On Android, use Settings > Connections > SIM Card Manager > select GOMO eSIM > Remove eSIM, then confirm.

Lost phone

Report the loss through GOMO's online form or the app's Account > SIM Management > "I lost my SIM and/or device".

GOMO requires two separate selfies holding two valid IDs and a notarized affidavit of loss for verification. Fees apply for a replacement eSIM. Check the amount in the app before confirming.

Don't use "Resend a copy of my eSIM QR code" for a lost phone. That option only emails you the code again. It doesn't replace the loss report, which is how GOMO verifies you before it issues a replacement. Kung nanakaw ang phone, report it first, then deal with the replacement.

Going back to a physical SIM

Open Account > SIM Management > "I want to switch my eSIM to a Physical SIM."

GOMO verifies your details before sending the replacement SIM. Fees apply, but the FAQ doesn't state an amount. Check the app before confirming. Data, calls and texts work the same on both SIM types, according to GOMO.

When the eSIM won't install or has no signal

Check these points:

  • Phone support: confirm that your phone supports eSIM and isn't carrier-locked.
  • Available slot: check that there's room for another eSIM.
  • Internet: use strong WiFi or good mobile data while downloading and activating.
  • QR code: scan it correctly and follow GOMO's installation steps. If the original code errors during transfer, contact support.
  • Registration: finish registration in GOMO PH. Review unsuccessful submissions and retry.
  • Activation time: GOMO says some activations take up to 24 hours.
  • APN: GOMO's pages specify gomo.ph. On iPhone, check Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Network. On Android, look for Access Point Names under SIM or mobile network settings.
  • 5G: check phone compatibility, enabled 5G settings and coverage if you're expecting 5G.

If it still won't install or work, contact GOMO through Facebook Messenger. Its eSIM support channel is the same as for physical SIMs.
